This course was designed so that by the time a student completes the course, they should have a thorough introductory knowledge of both Chemistry and Physics principles. Students will also develop skills for critical thinking and problem solving. All of the topics and lessons covered in this course were designed based on the Pennsylvania Academic Science Standards, which are very closely related to the National Science Standards. The Pennsylvania Academic Standards that are met in this course are listed on the course information page and are broken down by what standards are met in each unit. Among the topics covered in this course are: scientific process, matter, forces and motion, machines, the atom, periodic table, chemical reactions, acids, bases, and light.
